NEWCASTLE, Sept 29 (SW) – As the pressure on Glenn Roeder to achieve the desired results and the pressure on Martins to score goals is slowly mounting, the manager himself issued a challenge to his new striker Obafemi Martins.

The £10million twenty one year old Nigerian striker has been challenged to score at least twenty goals this season and after his impressive strike and header in his team’s 2 – 1 victory over Levadia Tallinn in the UEFA Cup at St James’ Park, Roeder feels that it is not an unrealistic ask. The two goals that he scored last night brings his overall total to three.

Roeder firmly believes that Martins can easily achieve this. Failure to do so would not only be a big disappointment for the club, but an even bigger one for the talented striker.
